Kellogg Global Hub
Welcome to the Kellogg Global Hub
The Global Hub is the flagship building of the Kellogg campus, designed to inspire and support the next generation of business leaders. Completed in 2017, the planning, design and construction of this marvel on the lake was a true community effort and thoroughly reflects Kellogg’s values. As current Kellogg Dean Francesca Cornelli said in a 2020 interview, “Here you enter and you immediately get what the building is about. It’s about the community, it’s about all coming together… To me the Kellogg culture is where you are free to experiment and where you can take risks and it's okay if you fail.” The building nurtures and reflects these sentiments with an open, collaborative layout, inspiring and vast views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan and classrooms equipped to handle problems in an ever-changing world.
In addition to its innovative academic architecture, the Global Hub boasts a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification, joining Kresge Centennial Hall as a Northwestern University building to earn the U.S. Green Building Council’s highest green building rating.
Please see below for more information about building policies and procedures, and details about our dining options and amenities.

The building spans over 415,000 square feet, thoughtfully designed with flexibility, collaboration and innovation in mind. The Global Hub offers a variety of retail and dining options, supported by Kellogg’s catering company, Flik. The state-of-the-art dining and gathering space, Gordon’s Marketplace, offers global cuisine and stunning lake views. The in-house café, Inspiring Grounds, is a favorite meeting place for students, faculty and staff to gather between classes and programming. In addition to these options, the lower level houses vending machines for folks to grab a quick snack on their way to class or work.
As mentioned, our partnership with Flik allows students, faculty and staff to provide food and beverage at their events. For the full catering and liquor policies, please see the downloadable resources below.

During the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters, this desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 8am to 10pm, and offers notary services, campus directions, coat and luggage storage for special events and more.
Mother’s Room
Located on the lower level of the building, L065, is a dedicated mother’s room to accommodate the needs of nursing parents. This room must be reserved in advance by emailing scheduling-kgh@kellogg.northwestern.edu. Out of courtesy to others, we require all reservations be limited to 30 minutes.
Mail Room
Located on the lower level of the building, L351, there is an in-house mail room for students, faculty and staff to use. The mail room can be found by using the lower level staircase entrance to the left of the Emporium, turning left once in the stairwell and following the back-of-house corridor to the end. The mail room will be on the righthand side.
Contemplation Rooms
The Global Hub provides a contemplation room for faculty and staff on the upper floors and one for MBA students on the second floor, rm. 2135. These rooms are designed for folks to use for short retreats, private meditation or solo spiritual practice.
Guest Amenities
A central tenet of Kellogg’s mission is to encourage collaboration, whether it be across disciplines, experiences or countries. To uphold this vision, the Global Hub offers many amenities for guests hosted by Kellogg staff, faculty and students.
Guest Parking Options – Depending on your department’s guidelines, parking validation may be offered to guests through the provision of the host department’s chart string. The North Garage is the closest parking option, with a daily ticket costing $9. Please email facilities-kgh@kellogg.northwestern.edu in advance of your guest’s arrival to arrange validation.
Company-in-Residence Suite – Located on the east side of the Galvin Design Wing, the Hub offers visiting VIPs a space to touch down between programming, meetings and so on. The Company-in-Residence suite (1419) can be requested via the scheduling team by emailing scheduling-kgh@kellogg.northwestern.edu.
Faculty Summit
Located on the 4th floor is the Faculty Summit. This two-story atrium contains a piazza in the center of the floor that serves as a meeting place for cross-collaboration between departments. Please note that this space is reserved for Kellogg faculty, staff and PhD students.
White Auditorium
On the 2nd floor, facing downtown and Lake Michigan in the 2200 wing, is White Auditorium. This auditorium serves as the major convening space in the building, accommodating up to a 300-person audience with the ability to be configured in a variety of different seating layouts.
Student Study Space
Students at Kellogg have multiple options when it comes to finding a place to study or participate in group work. There are group study rooms located on the lower, first and second levels as well as student lounges at the end of the 1100, 2100 and 2400 wings. In addition, there is ample open workspace throughout the building for students to quietly work and gather.
Outdoor Terraces
The outdoor terraces located on the first floor south and east sides of the Global Hub are fan-favorite gathering spots during nice weather. These may be reserved for Kellogg events but otherwise are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Montag Vista, the south terrace, features views of downtown Chicago and the lakefill while the east terrace showcases vistas of Northwestern’s football practice field and Lake Michigan.
-
There is a shared primary objective among all Kellogg facilities to support the academic and collaborative goals of the school. Due to the importance of this mission as well as space constraints, the Global Hub is not available for undergraduate functions, personal events (e.g. weddings, birthdays) or corporate activities that do not prioritize this mission.
All programming, apart from companies engaging in recruitment activities and including corporate presentations to Kellogg students, must be charged to the appropriate internal fund of the department sponsoring the event.
