Lester “Les” Molnar
Lester, a longtime resident of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on March 23, 2020. Lester received his bachelor of business degree from Kellogg and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Lester retired in 1993 as vice president from Liberty Homes Inc. in Goshen, Indiana, and remained a director on Liberty’s board. He is survived by his wife, four children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nancy Almquist
Nancy received her MBA from Kellogg in 1975. She went to work for Chapman & Cutler Law LLP as a financial accountant. She passed away on Jan. 30, 2022.

Glenn Smith
Edward Glenn Smith, MBA ‘01, passed away suddenly at age 48 on August 5, 2021, in Walnut
Creek, California. The learning experiences he had and friends he made at Kellogg and beyond were immeasurable and he developed a valued network of colleagues, all of whom he treated as and considered dear friends, his family says.

Edward F.X. Hughes
Edward F.X. Hughes, a healthcare policy pioneer and professor of strategy at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022. He was 80. Edward founded the university’s Center for Health Services and Policy Research and served as its director for 17 years. He also served as the director of the Kellogg Health Enterprise Management Program and was the founder of the school’s joint MD-MBA Program. Believed to have been the first physician to be tenured in a business school, he served Northwestern for more than 45 years.
