B.R. (Bob) Sefton
Bob Sefton passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at age 88. He was a beloved husband to Martha Sefton, loving father of Philip (Marlene) and Jamie (Lisa) Sefton, proud grandfather of Maddie and Michael Sefton and dear brother of Richard (the late Martha) and Joyce (Gary) Johnston. Bob received his undergraduate degree from Millikin University and his MBA from Kellogg. He had a long, successful career at Illinois Bell/Ameritech. Outside of work, Bob was an avid runner and fisherman, a board member of A Safe Haven and Duncan YMCA, a Kiwanis Club member and an active member at First Presbyterian Church in Evanston. He was a gentle mentor to many and will be greatly missed.

David Villa
David Villa passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. At the time of his death, he was CEO/CIO of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, a director and treasurer of the Marguerite Casey Foundation and a director of the Financial Accounting Foundation. He dedicated his life to knowledge and service. David will be deeply missed by his wife,
Jane Harney Villa ’76 BA’80, his daughter, Elena, his siblings, and many friends and colleagues.

Cheryl Tucker
After a long and valiant battle against cancer, Cheryl Tucker died on November 4, 2020, surrounded by family. She will be missed for her wit, wisdom and joyful presence.

Michael Mooney
Michael Pierce Mooney, 60, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest at his home in Williston, Fla., on December 15. Mike held marketing positions at Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson and Larson-Juhl. He was licensed in Florida as a real estate broker. Tall of stature and big of heart, Mike could build or fix almost anything. Mike was an incredible leader, quick-witted and humorous, but most of all he was kind and generous. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

David Messick
David Messick passed away on April 26, 2021, in the home he shared with his wife Judy for more than 50 years in Santa Barbara, California. He died peacefully, after a long illness. After earning a doctorate at the University of North Carolina, David and Judy moved their family to California in 1964. David received tenure at UC Santa Barbara while still in his 20s, and during his 27 years on the faculty, served as the chairman of the Psychology Department and the head of the Academic Senate. When his work began to receive notice in managerial circles, Kellogg recruited Dave to be the Morris and Alice Kaplan Professor of Ethics and Decision Science. David made meaningful contributions in the field of social psychology — his work has been cited thousands of times in peer-reviewed journals. He put great effort and time into the development of his graduate students who now populate think tanks, businesses and university faculties worldwide. He won numerous awards for his teaching. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a force who lived fully.
Dale Park Jr.
Dale Park Jr. died on February 21, 2021, at the age of 85. He spent his entire professional career specializing in estate planning and administration. He was elected to Northwestern University's Board of Trustees in 1979. In that same year, as a director of the John L. and Helen Kellogg Foundation, he arranged the major grant that provided professorships and research centers for the business school, changing the name to the Kellogg School of Management. He also arranged for the gift of several professorships and an undergraduate dormitory to Northwestern, and he spent many years on the Kellogg Global Advisory Board.
