Global Network Week
A dynamic, cross-cultural exchange
Experience the power of the global classroom during Global Network Week, an annual, weeklong event that convenes students from the entire Executive MBA Global Network.
In the company of business leaders with diverse backgrounds and expertise, you will take negotiations and crisis management courses that encourage close collaboration and deep conversation. You will learn with — and from — your peers as you share perspectives, dissect problems and explore topical issues in a highly interactive classroom environment. Outside of class time, enjoy a series of career panels, networking events and social activities.
Key benefits of electives
Learn from local experts
Our unique model allows you to learn directly from the source — local faculty with firsthand knowledge about the markets and industries they teach. With expertise developed through experience, they bring an insider perspective to the classroom that is invaluable for executive students.
Build global connections
When you travel and study internationally, you'll have a variety of opportunities to expand your global connections. Meet with leaders in the local business community, build personal and professional relationships with students in the classroom, and connect with alumni who live or work in the region.
Broaden your perspective
Collaborating and connecting with people from different backgrounds and geographies will significantly broaden your perspective. You'll look at issues from new angles, reflect on your management approach and see opportunities in a whole new light.
Test your global business prowess with diverse peers
The two courses you’ll take during Global Network Week — Negotiations Strategies and Strategic Crisis Management — were chosen for a specific reason: They’re ideally suited for a global classroom, where students from diverse geographies, industries and backgrounds can practice global business exchanges in a safe environment. You and your peers will simulate negotiations with companies in, for example, China or Germany, and also practice the management of crises on a global scale. It’s an ideal environment to learn-by-doing and an optimal time to exchange knowledge with your international peers.
Negotiation strategies
Learn the art and science of managing and leveraging interdependent relationships. Practice cross-cultural negotiation, dispute resolution, coalition formation and multiparty negotiations, extremely competitive negotiations and negotiating via information technology.
Strategic crisis management
Gain conceptual tools for managing complex, high-pressure crisis situations. Dive into topics including management and the media, dealing with activists and interest groups, and surviving legal, legislative and regulatory challenges.
